Wrist pain and wrist injuries are quite common and repetitive motion can do serious damage to your wrists. Everyday activities like typing can cause pain, injury and in some cases lead to the development of carpal tunnel syndrome. Other common injuries include lacerations and fractures to the many bones contained within the wrists.

The majority of compensation claims made for wrist injuries are occupation related, with individuals suffering from completing repetitive task for several hours at a time.

  • A very minor wrist injury including undisplaced or minimally displaced fractures and soft tissue injuries necessitating application of plaster or bandage for a matter of weeks and a full or virtual recovery within a matter of months –up to £3,500 compensation
  • An uncomplicated Colles’ fracture (commonly caused by people falling onto a hard surface and breaking their fall with outstretched arms) – £4,750 to £5,250 compensation
  • Less severe wrist injury still resulting in some permanent disability – £8,500 to £17,000 compensation
  • Wrist injuries resulting in significant permanent disability but where some useful movement remains £17,000 to £27,000 compensation
  • Wrist injuries resulting in complete loss of function in the wrist – £32,000 to £40,000 compensation
