Hand Injury Compensation

Hand Injury Compensation

Hand injuries will often occur as a result of accidents in the workplace, such as crushing or lifting accidents. Other frequent causes include falls from height where hands have been used to soften the fall and road traffic accidents. We use our hands for numerous tasks in our daily lives so injuries can prove to be very disruptive and limiting to those who suffer from them. Injuries that affect the nerves, blood vessels and ligaments of the hand can lead to permanent damage and disability. Compensation claims for hand injuries will be awarded significantly more in cases where injuries have led to amputations, such as the loss of one or more fingers.

  • Minor Hand injuries with full recovery within a few months – £600 to £3,000 compensation
  • Moderate hand injuries, such as deep lacerations with some loss of function – £4,250 to £9,000 compensation, depending on whether there is any permanent disability
  • More severe hand injuries with serious loss of hand function £19,750 to £42,500 compensation
  • Finger amputations up to £62,000 compensation
  • Loss of hand – £65,500 to £75,000 compensation
  • Serious damage to both hands – £35,500 to £57,500 compensation
