Employment Law in 2012
1st February 2012 - new Tribunal award limits come into force.
6th March 2012 - the Government consultation closes on proposals to charge Claimants a fee to bring a claim in the Employment Tribunals (at present this is free).
April 2012 - the qualifying period for unfair dismissal claims will increase from one year to two years for those starting a new job on or after 6 April 2012. Employees whose employment started before 6 April 2012 will remain subject to the one year qualifying period.
Unpaid parental leave increases to four months.
