Criminal Injuries Compensation Claims (CICA)

If you have been a victim of a criminal injury (whether physical or psychological) you may be entitled to compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 1995. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority is an organisation set up to compensate victims of violence. An example of a criminal injury is:

  • An unprovoked assault
  • Rape
  • Attempted rape
  • Arson
  • Psychiatric trauma
